Mental Health Professionals of North Alabama

(MHPNA)

Welcomes You!

Therapy Office

"There is no commUnIty without U and I."

Our Mission

The goal of MHPNA is to provide a local support network for multidisciplinary practitioners who treat mental health issues.

Who This Group Is For

This group is for Social Workers, Licensed Professional Counselors, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners, Registered Dietitian, Psychiatrists, or any other person or agency who provides mental health services in the North Alabama area. As of this writing, we have 650 plus practitioners in our group from 5 different counties in North Alabama, ranging from private practice therapists to community agency providers to school counselors. We invite and encourage college students who are finishing their degree and who are looking for support or supervision as they begin their careers to join our group.

We are reaching out to the various college programs throughout North Alabama to let you know of this service and to extend our services to you and your students. We volunteer our time for this group. We are not a formal 501(c)3 and we do not charge dues. This is a free service that we have enjoyed providing to our community and we would love to partner with you and your program!

*We do not connect clients with pratitioners*

New For 2026!

The Leisurely Therapist Book Club

Welcome to the Leisurely Therapist Book Club, a space created for therapists who want to read with intention and joy. Each quarter follows a simple, balanced rhythm designed to nourish both the clinician and the human behind the credentials.

We have our inaugural members and we are in the process of voting on quarter one books. We will post them here and send out the selections through the MHPNA listserv. Feel free to jump in and join our chats and meetings!
🟣 Month 1 — Professional / Self-Help
We begin each quarter with a professional development or self-help title that helps strengthen our skills, deepen insight, or nurture personal growth.
🟢 Month 2 — Non-Fiction or Memoir
Next, we shift into real stories, lived experiences, or deeply researched topics that expand our worldview and spark meaningful discussion.
🔵 Month 3 — Fiction
We wrap up each quarter with a fiction book—something immersive, emotionally rich, and creatively inspiring. A reminder that rest, imagination, and narrative matter for therapists too.
